We have seen season after season of the Dancing with the Stars and the various current and old celebrities that bring on the show. How about bringing back the Celebrity boxing? One of the first matches I remember seeing was Vanilla Ice going against Todd Bridges that played Willis Jackson, the older brother to Gary Coleman (Arnold Jackson) on the long running series called Different Strokes. Willis did what we thought a big brother should do and you always thought of him as tough; when you saw him on Different Strokes.
This wasn’t true for Barry Williams that played Greg Brady on the Brady Bunch. Greg was the oldest of 6 children on the show and you always thought of him as the person that would take care of his brothers and sisters. There were many celebrity baby names that came out of that show. The little red headed kid from the Partridge Family beat the brakes off of Greg Brady and made him look weak. Danny Bonaduce knocked Barry Williams down 5 times and finally the towel was thrown in and Danny from the Partridge Family was the winner. I would never watch the Brady Bunch in the same fashion again, after I saw this fight in Celebrity boxing.
The night would end with Tonya Harding beating up Paula Jones who was the former lover of Bill Clinton. Amy Fisher or the Long Island Lolita was suppose to have been Tonya’s opponent, but Paula Jones had to be a last minute fill-in, since Amy Fisher couldn’t travel out of state.
The 2nd episode of Celebrity boxing wasn’t that great, but we did get to see Manute Bol who was 7 feet and 7 inches tall going against one very large man in the belly department in William “the Refrigerator” Perry. Most thought the NFL player would win this boxing match easily, but it turned out the long reach of Manute Bol was the difference and he won the fight easily. I would like to see these Celebrity boxing match ups brought back as they seem to draw a lot of talk around the water cooler the next day at work.
